What the Deaf Man Heard

A young boy whose mother is abducted from a bus and murdered decides to pretend that he's deaf and mute when the Greyhound arrives in a small Georgia town. "Adopted" by the depot manager and a café owner, the boy becomes a man (Matthew Modine) who still continues with the conceit -- until he learns a town elder is embezzling church funds. Now he must speak up!
