Fifteen years after blowing out of town to become a celebrity, Roxy Carmichael is rumored to be coming home to sleepy Clyde, Ohio. As the excited residents eagerly prepare for her return, Roxy's old boyfriend (Jeff Daniels) must reexamine the past, while quirky teen Dinky Bossetti (Winona Ryder) feels sure that Roxy is her mother.
