Wake Island

Wake Island tells the true story of a handful of outnumbered and outgunned U.S. Marines who bravely staved off (for a time) a Japanese invasion of the remote outpost of Wake Island right after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Although an ultimately futile defense, the Marines' brave stand offered a glimmer of hope to Americans in the dark, early days of World War II. Stars Robert Preston.
