Conductor Bruno Campanella leads the Gran Teatre del Liceu Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in composer Giuseppe Verdi's operatic interpretation of William Shakespeare's tragedy "Macbeth," directed robustly by Phyllida Lloyd. Playing the bard's flawed protagonist with gusto, Carlos Álvarez stars opposite Maria Guleghina as the calculating and ambitious Lady Macbeth, whose thirst for power drives her beloved to murder.
