When his wife goes into labor while he's on the road some 1,200 miles away, James Kowalski (Viggo Mortensen), an ex-race-car driver and former Army Ranger, puts the pedal to the metal to get home. After eluding the cops -- many times -- Kowalski stops at a Native American reservation for some R&R and then heads out again, determined to break through an impenetrable police and FBI roadblock.
