Loosely based on the true story of a 1933 kidnapping in San Jose, Calif., this fictionalized version of events follows a dogged reporter (Gabriel Mann) as he fights to prevent the lynching of two men most likely innocent of the crime. With only one eyewitness to the abduction, the journalist faces a tough road in confronting a system of corruption, apathy and eye-for-an-eye vengeance being passed off as justice. Pete Postlethwaite and Bruce McGill co-star.
