Adapted from the Steve Martini best-seller, this courtroom thriller opens with Paul Madriani (Brian Dennehy) mourning his dead wife, caring for his daughter and negotiating a brutal custody dispute. But his life gets turned upside down yet again when his sister-in-law (Patricia Richardson) becomes the prime suspect in a murder. Jean Smart co-stars as U.S. Attorney Dana Colby, an old friend of Paul's who soon becomes more than just a friend.
