This British miniseries follows a detective (Jack Davenport) who, after a sudden bite on the neck from a buddy, eschews his old life and friends and joins an elite government agency that engages in experimental lab testing -- with humans as the subjects. A successful fusion of stylistic British thriller and vampire flick, coupled with first-rate storytelling, makes these somewhat improbable characters and situations seem almost plausible.
