This documentary mixes rare concert clips with jazz legend Jack Sheldon and several celebrity pals discussing a career that included addiction, personal tragedy and fame as Merv Griffin's longtime musical sidekick. Sheldon's life seems ready-made for a movie: a poor childhood, teenage years honing his craft with the amazing Chet Baker, and stints in the Stan Kenton and Benny Goodman bands, where he perfected his unique trumpet technique.
