In this unique spin on the fish-out-of-water tale, 16-year-old Tru (Najarra Townsend) finds her life turned upside down when her lesbian mothers decide to move the family from an open-minded San Francisco community to a rigidly conservative Southern California suburb. Struck by the rampant homophobia that thrives in her new town, Tru bands together with a pair of gay schoolmates to establish the school's first gay-friendly organization.
