Returning home after a lengthy business trip, Frank (Stephen McHattie) discovers his girlfriend, singer Janie (Susan George), now works at a new resort hotel and has taken up with the owner (John Osborne). Furious, the disturbed Frank goes on a shooting rampage and takes Janie hostage. A tense standoff ensues in this gripping drama, which co-stars Oliver Reed as a police lieutenant who responds to the crisis on his last day before retirement.
