For two families in the Kentucky backcountry carrying on a long-standing feud, things get complicated when a boy from one clan falls in love with a girl from the other, à la "Romeo and Juliet." To make matters worse, a gigantic flood builds in the high range up above the warring clans' homes. Randolph Scott, Esther Raison, Noah Beery, Shirley Temple and Buster Crabbe star in director Henry Hathaway's adaptation of a story by Zane Grey.
