Love and loss follow young Hassan (Khaled El Nabawy) -- a telegraph operator in 1948 Port Said -- for more than 50 years after a tryst with beautiful Noura (Cyrine Abdelnour). Decades later, the transitory affair affects him as a middle-aged man and as an old man. Director Ahmed Maher's powerful feature-film debut (which co-stars Omar Sharif as the elderly Hassan) blends a thoughtful, twisty plot and brilliant performances.
