A teenage daughter's pregnancy means chaos for a working-class Dublin family in this drama that demonstrates director Stephen Frears's ability to handle comedy as well as the darker themes of The Grifters and Dangerous Liaisons. The second in Irish author Roddy Doyle's Barrytown trilogy, The Snapper follows The Commitments and precedes The Van.
