Leaving Las Vegas director Mike Figgis throws standard film storytelling out the window with this montage of dramatic episodes. Loosely connected by the life of a filmmaker named Nic (Julian Sands), the picture follows the director through his childhood in Africa to his adult life, during which he's involved in a tragic film shoot in North Africa. The film also includes a vignette about long-lost twins (both played by Saffron Burrows) reuniting.
