A rough, hilarious comedy about a washed-up National Football League quarterback (Burt Reynolds) who's sent to prison and is forced to put together an inmate gridiron team. Reynolds has seldom been better; as the smart-mouthed Paul "Wrecking" Crewe, his principal football philosophy is "Always protect your quarterback." The climactic football game is a bone-crunching howl from start to finish.
