Tan (Tao-Liang Tan), a deadly kick-fighting master, is in the middle of a match when his opponent pulls out a knife. But after Tan accidentally kills his rival in self-defense, the man's brother, Pan Pak (Kang Peng), promptly vows to kill him. Laying low for a while, Tan takes on a new student -- a feisty princess named Phoenix (Kwan-Li Shen) whose fighting skills are so impressive that Tan asks for her help when Pan challenges him to a death match.
