Unhappy about spending the summer in a North Carolina beach town with the father (Greg Kinnear) who left her family years ago, rebellious teenager Ronnie Miller (Miley Cyrus) is pleasantly surprised when she bonds with her dad over their shared love of music. Meanwhile, Ronnie falls for a local volleyball star (Liam Hemsworth) determined to get into an Ivy League college. Kelly Preston co-stars in this drama based on a Nicholas Sparks novel.
