The Key

Naval captains Chris Ford (Trevor Howard, in a BAFTA Award-winning role) and David Ross (William Holden) are commissioned with the deadly task of rescuing damaged Allied ships from certain destruction by prowling German U-boats. Believing his days to be numbered, Ford gives his fellow skipper the key to his apartment with the proviso that should he die at sea, Ross can have access to the flat -- and its beautiful occupant (Sophia Loren).
