Jamie King (Jamie Foxx) dreams of fame, so he ditches Texas for Hollywood, where, while waiting to hit it big, he makes a living at the hotel owned by his Aunt Helen (Ellia English) and Uncle Junior (Garrett Morris). Although he's not exactly a big shot yet, Jamie's smart enough to know that everything in his life is material for his work, including his colleagues and the sexy receptionist (Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon) he hopes to romance.
