When a drug conviction upends corporate attorney Nick Fallon's (Simon Baker) high-powered career, he's sentenced to 1,500 hours of community service. To fulfill his obligation, Nick works to help children tangled up in bad luck, bad families or both. Nick also faces the considerable challenge of relating to his father, Burton Fallon (Dabney Coleman), senior partner of the cutthroat law firm where he works the rest of the time.
