Playing against type, Christopher Lee (best known as Dracula in a series of movies) gets to show his good side as the heroic Duc de Richleau, who maintains the air of a gentleman throughout his tireless battle with a Satanic coven led by the villainous Mocata (Charles Gray). Hailed as one of the best horror films produced by England's Hammer Studios, The Devil Rides Out was written for the screen by legendary horror and sci-fi scribe Richard Matheson.
