In Man of the Frontier (1936), Gene Autry pursues the varmint who keeps trying to blow up a new irrigation project. The Proud Rebel (1958) stars Alan Ladd as a Civil War veteran in search of a doctor to cure his mute son. And in The Old Corral (1936), small-town sheriff Autry butts heads with some big-city mobsters intent on silencing a murder witness.
