Brandon Teena -- a Nebraskan woman who was born Teena Brandon but identified and dressed as a man -- is the focus of this in-depth documentary. Brandon finds happiness with a girlfriend and makes a number of friends, but when his secret is discovered, he's brutally attacked and later murdered. Here, the filmmakers use interviews, reenactments and news footage to tell Brandon's story (which also served as the basis for the film Boys Don't Cry).
