Richard Burton stars as fallen Communist leader Leon Trotsky in this drama from director Joseph Losey, a film that probes the mind of one Frank Jackson (Alain Delon), the assassin who was sent to kill him. Beginning with the raid on the exiled Trotsky's Mexican compound in May 1940 and ending with his death just three months later, the film chronicles Jackson's journey into Trotsky's inner circle -- all for the express purpose of murder.
