A small Texas mission called The Alamo is the historic spot where, in 1836, almost 200 men stood their ground for two weeks as they were attacked by Mexican forces led by Gen. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. The brave faction of Texans was headed by three men -- Col. William Travis (Patrick Wilson), James Bowie (Jason Patric) and David Crockett (Billy Bob Thornton) -- whose path into history books made them heroes and symbols of independence.
