The Trojan Women

  (1971)
An all-star cast backs this film based on the Greek tragedy by Euripides, a gloomy tale of war-ravaged Troy and the women who lived through those times. Among them are widow Andromache (Vanessa Redgrave) and troubled Cassandra (Genevieve Bujold). Although not part of the competition, this film was shown at the 1971 Cannes Film Festival.
