Marieta Severo, Julia Lemmertz and Maria Luisa Mendonca star in this film about a mother, Filomena Capaccio, whose husband and two sons are murdered by the children of a man from her past, Firmino Santos Guerra. She'd been engaged to Firmino 30 years before, but left him for the man she eventually married, raising Firmino's ire. Filomena fights back, using her three daughters -- Maria Francisca, Maria Rosa and Maria Pia -- as her weapons.
