Captain Geoffrey Thorpe (Errol Flynn) loots and pillages while sailing the high seas in Michael Curtiz's swashbuckling adventure. Thorpe obeys Queen Elizabeth's (Flora Robson) orders and attacks Spain's fleet and New World colonies. He's captured, but escapes to warn England of the advancing Spanish armada.
