The title is almost a summary in itself. In this fact-based dark comedy, Wanda (Holly Hunter) and Verna (Elizabeth Ruscio) both want their daughters to join the high school cheerleading squad. Since Verna's child seems most likely to win, Wanda decides to hire a hit man to kill either Verna or her daughter -- or both. When the story gets out, Wanda's trial turns into a media circus.
