The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band

This musical set in the 1880s follows the Bower family -- led by patriarch Renssaeler Bower (Walter Brennan) -- who becomes a band in order to perform on behalf of their favorite politician, Grover Cleveland. As the group prepares to put on a show at the 1888 Democratic Presidential convention, Alice Bower (Lesley Ann Warren) falls for the rival Republican candidate. Co-stars child actors Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn (in a bit part).
