Paul L. Stein's blissful comedic musical follows a charming tavern hostess named Jenny Swanson (Jeanette MacDonald) who takes it upon herself to save her brother Nels (Carroll Nye) from a debt he can't pay by entering herself in a "wife lottery." Despite the love she has for her sweetheart, Chris (John Garrick), Jenny finds herself torn between her obligations to an Italian aviator (Joseph Macaulay) and a rugged miner (Robert Chisholm).
