Honest Wyoming horse rancher Myrl Redding (John Cusack) turns to vigilantism when his archrival -- land baron Henry Ballard (L.Q. Jones) -- abuses two of his horses and an American Indian who looked after them. Denied justice by a judge (John Goodman), Myrl takes the law into his own hands. Set amidst Wyoming's attempt for statehood, this HBO Western was penned by Cusack's father, Dick, and directed by John Badham.
