The Great Locomotive Chase

Real Civil War events inspired this Disney film about James Andrews (Fess Parker), a Union spy who orchestrated the theft of a Confederate locomotive. Upset that his train was stolen, the spirited conductor, William Fuller (Jeffrey Hunter), tracks down Andrews and his gang any way he can, stopping at nothing until they're captured. The film culminates with their bold escape. Buster Keaton's film The General was also inspired by these events.
