A big-time Hollywood producer named Oliver Merlin (Adolphe Menjou) can't "buy common sense," so he asks sincere and sweet Hazel Dawes (Andrea Leeds) to tell him the truth about his latest movie in this Technicolor-rich, George Gershwin music-packed treat. Boatloads of stars make appearances, including Edgar Bergen, Charlie McCarthy, Kenny Baker, Ella Logan, Helen Jepson, Zorina, Bobby Clark and the Ritz Bros.
