Mental hospital orderly Jerome Littlefield (Jerry Lewis) drives co-workers and superiors crazy with his slapstick shtick in this classic, which showcases Lewis in top-notch screwball form. Jerome mimics the symptoms of various patients, causing the head of the sanitarium (Glenda Farrell) to consider herself a candidate for the straightjacket. Despite his antics, Jerome transforms a suicidal patient (Susan Oliver) into a confident woman.
