Woody Allen's a top insurance investigator who spars with the "efficiency expert" (Helen Hunt) brought in to clean up his company. Although they hate each other on sight, a dinner theater hypnosis gag turns them into momentary lovebirds. But Voltan's (David Ogden Stiers) spell also makes them unwitting pawns in his plot to steal priceless jewels. Charlize Theron and Dan Aykroyd co-star in this screwball comedy set in 1940.
