Charismatic Steve McQueen stars as rising stud poker player Eric Stoner, aka the titular Cincinnati Kid, in this suspense-packed drama directed by Norman Jewison. In Depression-era New Orleans, the cocksure Stoner challenges longtime champ Lancey Howard (Edward G. Robinson) to a showdown at the table, where a war of wills -- and nerve -- ensues. The all-star cast includes Karl Malden, Ann-Margret, Rip Torn, Tuesday Weld and Joan Blondell.
