Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Take One

Decades before reality TV took hold, director William Greaves made this fiction-documentary hybrid that exposes the high artifice of filmmaking. As a pair of actors rehearses a breakup scene in New York's Central Park, one camera crew is shooting them, another is filming the film crew and yet another is documenting the film within a film. Actors tire, equipment breaks and the crew even stages a mini-rebellion in this counterculture landmark.
