Based on her observations of teen runaways, Penelope Spheeris wrote and directed this compelling tale about Evan Johnson (Bill Coyne), who finds refuge with a band of malcontents when household conflict and a sense of worthlessness overwhelm him. Through garage hopping, fights, concerts and death, the kids -- whose binding forces are personal tragedy and punk rock -- hold on to one another like the family they never had.
