Strange Relations

Jerry (Paul Reiser) is a successful New York psychiatrist who is diagnosed with leukemia. When he tells his mother (Olympia Dukakis), she reveals that he was adopted from a young Catholic girl called Sheila in Liverpool, England. Jerry's desperation for a bone-marrow transplant leads him to that working-class town to track down his mother and find out whether he has any siblings who could donate the life-saving marrow.
