Via an intergalactic gateway known as the Stargate, Col. Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) leads the SG-1 military team on missions to far-flung planets, forming alliances with other races and fighting the Goa'uld -- parasitic aliens set on ruling the galaxy. Based on the 1994 feature film, this syndicated sci-fi series also stars Amanda Tapping as astrophysicist Samantha Carter and Michael Shanks as brainiac scientist Daniel Jackson.
