In his final film, director Bob Fosse (Cabaret) examines a true show business tragedy -- the story of Dorothy Stratten (Mariel Hemingway), the 1980 Canadian Playmate of the Year. After appearing in such films as Galaxina and They All Laughed, Stratten's career was cut brutally short by her troubled manager/husband, Paul Snyder (Eric Roberts). Cliff Robertson (as Hugh Hefner) and Carroll Baker (as Dorothy's mother) lend impressive support.
