Billie Pilgrim (Michael Sacks) survives the horrific firebombing of Dresden at the end of World War II. He subsequently lives out simultaneous past lives as a POW and a well-loved zoo resident on the planet Tralfamadore, and a present-day life as an aging optometrist from New York.
