Lou Delemere (Ally Sheedy) is a pro golfer turned motivational speaker whose upwardly mobile lifestyle is shattered when she's the victim of a random beating outside her Manhattan home. In need of R&R, Lou and her partner, Alex (Patsy Kensit), head to their secluded home on Shelter Island. But Lou's privacy is threatened by a nosy sheriff (Chris Penn) and a weird stranger (Stephen Baldwin) who collapses on their doorstep during a thunderstorm.
