The fifth season of this sitcom explores the further comic adventures of Fred Sanford (Redd Foxx), a junk dealer who lives in the Watts section of Los Angeles with his grown son (and reluctant business partner), Lamont (Demond Wilson). This season sees Fred discussing marriage while "Aunt Esther" casts aspersions on the Sanfords' new business venture, a boarding house called the Sanford Arms (the name and premise of a spin-off of the show).
