In these six episodes from Season 4, wine-loving barrister Horace Rumpole (Leo McKern) defends a man against liquor-theft charges and an elderly woman against spy charges. He takes on left-wing activist Liz Probert (Samantha Bond) as his pupil, and he finally gets kicked out of the house by his wife, Hilda (Marion Mathie), or -- as Horace calls her -- "She Who Must Be Obeyed." The series is written by barrister-playwright John Mortimer.
