Rhinoceros
(1973)|
Part of the American Film Theatre series, Rhinoceros showcases the comedic talents of Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder as they transform Eugene Ionesco's play into screen genius. Wilder stars as Stanley, an unhappy young office clerk who is further troubled when it appears the entire population of his town (with the exception of himself) is turning into rhinoceroses. Metaphors and symbolism abound in this absurd tale of a society in peril.
