When independent filmmaker John Pierson grew tired of the grind and stress of making movies in an increasingly corporate film industry, he and his wife, Janet, and their children decamped for far-off Fiji. There, they took over a small theater and screened movies for the islanders for free; as the locals discover American movies, the Piersons attempt to adapt to a life that's completely different from what they're accustomed to.
