Eastern Wu forces -- under the tactical leadership of the cunning Zhou Yu (Tony Leung Chiu Wai) -- set up camp on Red Cliff near warlord Cao Cao (Zhang Fengyi), who prepares to turn a typhoid outbreak among his men into a deadly weapon. Meanwhile, Xu chancellor Zhuge Liang (Takeshi Kaneshiro) readies 100,000 arrows in a single night. Director John Woo follows up his 2008 Red Cliff with this grand war tale set in the last days of the Han Dynasty.
